Welcome to Beach Break LiveEG2D3413Beach Break Live is probably one of the biggest student festivals of the year. Set on Pembrey beach, the Welsh coast line became home for the 20,000 students who set up camp for the week. With a whole host of activities including extreme sports, it was the perfect event for ExPix to cover.

The ExPix crew were expecting a busy week; the list of events included demos from the Flexifoil  team, Craig Sparkes and Will McKean with the help from the guys from the Student Kitesurf Association (SKA) and  Soton Uni Kitesurf Club (SUKS) & kite lessons on the new style Blankforce boards from Marc Rowley of Blast Kiteboarding.

Day 1 Arriving late on Monday night we pulled up in the production car park not knowing where to go and what to expect the following day.

Tuesday morning arrived and we realised that the event site was bigger than your average extreme sports site; 20 miles of fencing encompassed the location. The production car park was situated just behind the main stage, to the left of this was another field where the dance / DJ tent was together with some fairground rides. To the right was another smaller marquee and then a walk to the camping fields. Looking straight ahead from the stage was another chill out area and a path that lead to the beach.

Heading straight for the beach we caught up with the guys from Blast Kiteboarding teaching Kitesurfing at Beach Break LiveBlast Kiteboarding teaching at Beach Break LiveSUKS president buggy riding at Beach Break LiveFlexifoil trying to do some demo's in very little wind and Marc Rowley  who was busy giving lessons to students.

The sun was out, the beach was looking good and the music was beating out from the Red Bull vehicles near by.......what more could you ask for!

The camp site was packed but the atmosphere was amazing. It seemed that each university had created it's own 'mini camp' and in true student style the rivalry between the unis as to who had the best camp, best fancy dress etc was in full swing.

For those who had the energy or could be bothered to peel themselves away from sunbathing, there was plenty going on throughout the day including a whole range of fantastic live music. The whole event had come together nicely especially as this was the first time at this spot.
