The forecast was epic, the riders were there, but would the promise be fulfilled?

Tiree is an awesome spot when it works with a beach for every wind direction within 15 mins, Tiree is one of the best places to hold an event that relies on the wind and the Wave Classic is one of the longest running events in the UK having been in existance for around 20 years check out the news for our latest trip to the hebridies.

Once again we are at another event; three on the bounce now so beginning to get tired, but as we haven’t been to a Kitesurfing event since early in the year we decided it was about time to get back on the horse….. so to speak. The British Kitesurfing Championship at Littlehamptonwas to be the venue for round 6.

Fresh from Windfest and with just enough time back in the office to get the piccys on the website, we spent Thursday night with Tom organising websites for riders; watch this space the templates look amazing, before getting up very very early for a 5.30am crossing!

We arrived at the White Air site at 7.00am on Friday morning but weren’t destined to start work immediately. An early morning cuppa ended with a trip to A & E with Jo suffering 2^nd degree burns after the handle decided to fall off the kettle; so much for the 5 year guarantee! Still the show must go on and ever the true professionals we set about making up for lost time.

So its that time of year again when the events start to run into each other:

Skate, BMX, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, landboarding, and mountain bike demo's along with a plethora of other minority sports coming together to produce stunning displays of alternative activities coupled with a lifestyle attitude, trade villages and music. This is the time of the big multi sport sport festivals.

With Poole Animal Windfest celebrating its 10th Aniversary promising a bigger and better event than before but could they still deliver the wind,  sun and action to keep the crowds happy once again.

Ok so we couldnt get down for the first part of the week due to other commitments in the Hebredies, but after an epic journey setting off from Tiree at 6.pm Thursday, arriving in Rochdale (base) at 4.30am grabbing 3 hrs sleep, unloading, reloading and jumping in the van it was then  7ish on Friday before we hit Exeter after passing 6 major accidents ..... we werent going to make the Friday that was for sure!!!

So heres hoping that the people involved in the 6 nasty accidents we passed on the way are all ok. Anyway after staying the night in Exeter we again set off for another 3 hours (traffic was very very heavy again) we finally arived in good old sunny Newquay ....NOT it was pouring down!

This was the first time in 4 years we have been covering the Boardmasters that the weather has been like this and it affected everything. Well done to everyone there who managed to keep things going even when wind and rain closed parts of the trade village off.

So for a slightly different take on the  Ripcurl Boardmasters  .......

Well back at Abersoch for the second part of Wakestock this year would the rain hold off ? ....

Could they move the poolgap from Oxford in time ?

Would the new traffic management put in place work or would chaos ensue.

Well with Wakestock now having a second and new venue how would the event compare with the Abrsoch site considering the clash with two other major festivals; one being Glastonbury.

Irelands Round 3 of their Kitesurfing Tour

Held in Dublin on Dollymount Beach the round 3 of the IKSA Tour is hosted by Puremagic.

Having been invited over for the craic by Fraincois from Puremagic I couldnt refuse an action packed weekend of sun and fun.

Well with the best snow forecast in years I received a call from friend and kitesurfer Helen Thompson who lives between Tiree and Glasgow to get my lazy butt up to Scotland for some epic snow sessions with her and Murray Aldridge.

The Hangtime Huge Demo weekend in Fleetwood in the Noth of England had a fantastic industry response and rider turn out for their first event of the year.

With a plethora (oooo big word) of manufacturers supporting the event there was always going to be a good turn out.
