The Billabong Ladies evening at the store in the Manchester Arndale Centre proved a hit with the girls. A good turn out watched the mini fashion show, whilst enjoying refreshments and manicures with music the live DJ.With a 20% discount on offer many people were taking advantage of this early seasonal offer.

Turkey Shoot Part 1

A last minute call from the Wilson saw us packing camera cases, suitcases and running to the delivery depot to pick up some new toys to play with.

It was Wednesday June 2009 and I still didnt know exactly where I was going, of course it was Turkey but area, accomodation, connections .... we didnt have a clue. I rang Hoggy to find out a little more and got the low down on the trip. We were going to be staying with the guys at Adrenaline Sports in Cesme (pronounced Ceshme).

Well  the Luderitz speed strip has done it and ironically it was the frenchman Seb Cattelan (aka catman) who found the spot, that managed to break the 50knt barrier first. Seb had been talking about Luderitz for some time and in Febuary we went to see what all the fuss was about...we're glad we did. check the story for more details on Luderitz and the NEW OUTRIGHT WORLD SPEED RECORD see if Seb managed to hold on to his 50 knot+ groundbreaking run!

So up to Tiree to try and eventually get some decent kiting shots on the Ilse of Tiree ... we have been up three times so far but up to now had not managed to get the right conditions for a decent shoot third time lucky .........we hoped.

Apparently the BBC were going to be there too to film local girl and Scotlands no 1female kitesurfer Helen Thompson for a cameo appearance on the programme Coast.

Now filming kitesurfing in the UK is notoriously difficult as forecasts cant alway be relied upon but with a reasonable forecast and fingers crossed  would we be in luck?

Well our old friend Jo has been busy this year and it shows. With an array of new moves in her arsenal to compete with the big guns on the International Tour she has been attracting interest from all over.

Ian was again out in South Africa between Jan and Feb.

Shooting researching and generally making new contacts for inclusion someway into the site.

This year seems to have proved very successful  with the ExPix profile being raised even higher by spreading the word wider afield. New contacts in Sweden and Holland have enhanced the kitesurf content whilst American and Australian contacts may provide even further outlets in the future.

Working with some of the top riders in the kitesurfing world produced some stunning images even if we say so ourselves. Just check out the featured articles on the front page or the travel articles in the lifestyles section.

The next installment for ExPix in May 2007 was a trip to the Western Ilses of the Hebrides's, Barra.  As soon as the BKSA competition had ended, the Turbulence Angels; Zoe, Joharra, and Cheryl,  Turbulence Team rider Marizu and I set off from Barrow to Barra in convoy. We were to meet up with more of the Turbulence team in Oban swelling the convoy from 3 to  7 vehicles and 14 riders. See how we got on for 5 days in the hebrides .

After eventually deciding to go out to the training grounds of many of the pro windsurfers and kiter's we made many new contacts and new friends some from not so very far away!

ExPix have started 2007 with a trip to South Africa. The trip will hopefully allow us to photograph and film the UK and International Kite and Wind Surfers training in warmer climates.
