Merry Christmas from ExPix and Santa

Father Christmas with Flexifoil kit at the beachOur last article of 2011 is an exclusive interview with one of the worlds most famous characters. THE ONE AND ONLY  MR FC and some of his crew!!!!

You guys may know him better as: Santa Claus, Father Christmas, Pere Noel (France, Belgium), Papai Noel (Brazil),Dun Che Lao Ren (China), Kanakaloka (Hawaii),Weihnachtsmann (Germany), Ded Moroz (Russian), the list goes on. With extreme sports inspiring people all over the world its only fitting that our last report is with this enigmatic, secretive, yet all encompassing bringer of good will.

Santa and crew head to the beachWe managed to catch up with him at a well known surf location in of all places, the UK, during one of the best surf forecasts of the year. His main aim was to grab a quick break before the Christmas rush set in. Bringing along some of his best workers who had won this break through the Christmas elves incentive, Mr FC walked onto Watergate Bay beach with his two elves and Frosty ready for some down time and wind action. Little did he know ExPix were already there with the SKA Chicks for Tricks weekend and we just couldn't resist taking five minutes out to grab a few shots and interview the man who manages to travel around the world every year without being seen!

So whats it like taking time out from work?

"Its very difficult for me to take time out from work, as you can imagine our factory of elves are working year round to be able to deliver a complete logistical solution to the ever expanding demands of Christmas Eve; to be honest I'm glad of the worlds financial crisis this year as things are not quite as busy and the sleigh will be lighter! Taking time out isn't as strange as you would think; being able to travel around the world in 24 hours means that its easy to go anywhere I want without waiting in airports, travelling by road or rail, you know how boring that can be! So its straight to wherever and we're ready to start playing. This one should be a good one, we've never used kites before!"

Why kiting ?

"As I just said I've never tried it before, but the bar and lines are similar in feel to the reins for the reindeer. Pull left, right etc, so its quite easy to transfer the skills. Although the three wheeled buggy is very different to the sleigh.... I usually go in a straight line not side ways, Frosty loves it though, he really has got the hang of it."Mr Snowman on a kite buggy from Flexifoil

Why the UK?

"A variety of reasons easy to get to, good facilities, easy access to a range of different locations, conditions and they have some awesome kit that the crew can borrow. These Flexifoil kites and buggies are really fun and I can't wait to go and try surfing, although with the Cribbar working it may be a little to big for me today. However the main reason is at this time of the year - well almost all year round, the weather is just right in the UK for me to bring some of the more weather dependant members of the team; hot places like Africa, the Caribean or Brazil and we wouldn't last!"Father Christmas and crew taking time out from the Christmas rush

Whats next ?

"Well obviously its back to work at the North Pole but I may be found at various places throughout the world having a drink or two... I just love the student nights, their fancy dress allows me to blend in easily!"

What will you be getting for Christmas?

"I don't know - Mrs Claus usually surprises me everytime, although I do think I might ask for a kite and a snow board, it could be real fun using the Katabatic winds at the poles during some downtime!"

Scary stuff for Christmas Elves

So after that very brief interview - we didn't want to impose to much but we just had to check with the man himself that he'd got our Christmas list:

New Website

New Cameras from Canon

New Van

New Reporters

Oh and a New Action Plan to tie it all in nicely together!!!!

This is what he said :-

"Obviously it all depends on how good you've been! There may be one or two things in their that I can manage but as you already know a  few things aren't available until later in 2012 so you'll just have to wait until Christmas morning to see what I bring."

On that note we'd like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, hoping your Christmas stockings are brimming with everything you asked for and we'll be back in the New Year to show you what Santa brought us.
