The first round of the 4 leg British Kitesurfing Championships,(BKC) was held at Skegness on 19 – 20th May 2018. Part of the East Coast Beach and Watersports Festival included demos from Team Extreme.
Wind conditions meant that the BKC competition was put on hold until Sunday but school groups and the public were entertained with free kite taster sessions and foiling demos.
An easterly wind on Sunday afternoon noon saw a promising start to the comps but fickle winds and several ‘black flagged’ heats later; the decision was made to run ‘expression sessions’ for each of the categories with the exception of the Pros who collectively decided not to ride due to the conditions.
