Well 2009 is here and we have just been out on our first road trip of the year.

the bluff cornwall

After spending most of the winter reformatting, gathering more information and generally upgrading the website a road trip was on the cards. Watching the weather meant a 'short' trip down to Cornwall for a good wind and swell forecast meant we could see anything from Surf to kiter's to windsurfers out on the water. With sunny skies and a swell prediction of around 20' would it be too good to miss!

Well it wasn't as good as the forecast as usual. The swell didn't appear properly although the wind was good. Despite this there was a decent turnout of riders from various sports.  Andy King (windsurfer), Lee 'Pasty' Harvey (kitesurfer) and Will Bennett were amongst the names out riding at Gwithian on the Sunday.Check out some of the pics below The images are 'ok' from the Sunday but unfortunately the sun didn't shine for most of the time so colours aren't the best!

During Sunday evening the weather got worse with high winds and a huge swell certain areas of the south coast were closed to public access and with good reason as the seas broke over the harbour walls and crashed under cliffs producing spray up to 50 feet high.

Whether it was for windsurfers, kitesurfers or just surfers the forecast could have turned out to be epic. Sennan was blown out, Praa was bang off shore, Gwithian flat so after driving around for 50 - 60 miles we ended up back where we started.  Unfortunately unless you know the name of this place then we cant tell you but check out these waves ....8P1C9668a.JPG

doesn't look much until you put a rider on one 8P1C9606a.JPG
