National Watersports FestivalThe National Watersports Festival

The NWF has been a key event for the windsurfing community for a number of years and with the introduction of S.U.P. kayak and kitesurfing in 2013; the National Watersports Festival has grown to being one of the largest watersports events in the UK.

Well supported by the industry it’s certainly the place to go to check out and demo the latest gear and to get first hand hints and tips on what to use and why. And with plenty of free clinics and Have a Go sessions, you’ve no excuse when it comes to fine tuning those skills.

Joining the NWF on Hayling Island for the first time was Jo Wilson Coaching. Fresh from coaching holidays in Egypt and delivering Youth Training camps; Jo was on hand with sponsors North to impart her knowledge and experience to an array of eager kiters.

Also on the Beach CBK were hosting taster sessions, being the 'resident' school / club for the area they were well aware what whats expected of them during one of the busiest weekends of the year for the Hayling Island beaches and Chris had a full team ready to call on.

Unfortunately the wind didn’t play ball this weekend, so whilst the kitesurfing comp wasn’t able to go ahead; the windsurfing races, tow in freestyle windsurf and S.U.P. comps took place. And if you weren’t competing there was still plenty to do; with S.U.P. and kayak kit galore to demo, the sun beating down and the water feeling more like a Jacuzzi, it just had to be done!
