Aaron Hadlow wins the Mondial du Vent Xtrem Air

They say the early bird catches the worm but as anyone knows in kitesurfing, patience is a virtue. And this proved true for the kitesurfers who had been waiting frustratedly since Sunday for the X’Ttrem Air competition to kick off.
With no wind for 2 days there was little for the kitesurfers to do as the windsurfers kept the crowds entertained with tow in sessions and the PWA got onto the task of registering the riders for the various comps.
But at the skippers meeting on Wednesday morning there was an air of anticipation as it was announced that the wind was expected to return later that day.
To make the most of the conditions competition zones were changed, with the X’Ttrem Air moving to the far end of the beach where the Sosh Cup had been held previously and the windsurfing moving to the middle of the beach.
As the X’Ttrem Air began the media were rewarded as legendary kitesurfer Dimitri Maramenides jumped from the sea over the crowd, landing in a pool of water on the beach before casually riding off.
With two big rivals in Kevin Langeree and Aaron Hadlow the stage was set for an epic show down. However the show was about to be sabotaged by two French riders Seb Garat and Paul Serin. Aaron's superiority shone through with massive height and technical ability and it was a shock when Kevin was pushed to a 4th place as Garat took the 2nd place and Serin the third.
